Joyce Marie Holbrook Sutherland, 81, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 7, 2025 in Findlay, Ohio at the Heritage Assisted Living.

Joyce was a homemaker until her 3 children were in high school, then she worked as an office manager for Feller and associates for many years.

Mom was very devoted to her husband of 50 years, Denny Sutherland. She took care of him and sat at his bedside 7 days a week until his passing June 12, 2012. A true love story.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, William Holbrook and Bonnie Graham Holbrook of Wise VA; sister, Annette Smith of Wise VA; and brothers, Charlie (Jane) Holbrook of Heiskell, TN and David Holbrook of Wise, VA.

She is survived by Son, Dennis Sutherland and wife Caryn of Front Royal, VA; Daughter, Patricia Mauldin of Marietta, Georgia; Son, Mike Sutherland and wife Kelly of Findlay, Ohio; 9 grandchildren, Kylie Gallo and husband Michael of Blacksburg, VA, Katie Davis and husband Will of Fort Belvoir, VA, Becky Sutherland of Blacksburg, VA, Jayde Mauldin of Marietta, GA, Kayla McCullough and husband Erin of Alliance, OH, Joshua Sutherland and wife Marissa of Austin, Texas, Jordin Maria and husband Zach of Parma, Ohio, Ethan Bednar and wife Olivia of Wahiawa, Hawaii; and Lex Goble and husband Logan of Findlay, OH; 6 great grandkids, Waylon, Clara, and Bo Davis of Fort Belvoir, VA, Jaden Proctor of Alliance, OH, Oliver and Wyatt Bednar of Wahiawa. Hawaii; Siblings, Fran Horne of Wise, VA, Dinah Price and late husband Jim of Wise, Va; Sister-in-law, Teresa Holbrook of Wise, VA; Brothers-in-law, Jim Smith of Wise, VA, Henry Holbrook and wife Kathy of Wise, VA; sister-in-law, Janis Senter of Skeetrock, VA; special friends, Carl and Andres Schultz of Alliance, Ohio; and many other family and friends.

Funeral services for Joyce Sutherland will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 14, 2025 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Jim Smith and Danny Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Holbrook Family Cemetery in Wise, VA. Family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M.
