It is with great sorrow that the Rose family announces the passing of Joseph "Joey" Marion Rose Jr., age 58, of Coeburn, Virginia, on Thursday, May 27 ^th , 2021, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born in Wayne, Michigan, and was the son of Joseph Marion Rose Sr. and Margaret Elizabeth Rose of Coeburn, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Lynn Rose, of Coeburn, Virginia. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his sister, Julie Rose; his sons, James "Jimmy" Michael Rose of Westland, Michigan and Cody Marion Rose of Coeburn, Virginia; his fiancé, Helen Correia, of Boston, Massachusetts; his nieces, Megan Elizabeth Greear and Amanda Dawn Greear, both of Coeburn, Virginia; his aunt, Anita Jane Gnas; and several other nephews, nieces, and cousins residing in Michigan and Alabama.

Anyone that knew Joey knew that he was tough on the outside, but on the inside, he had a joking, genuine heart of gold. Joey never met a stranger, and although his persona could be intimidating at first, people often found a friend in him by the end of the conversation. Joey never entered a room that he did not brighten with jokes and laughter. When someone needed a helping hand, he was the first to offer, and never expected anything in return. He was an avid motorcycle rider and spent most of his free time attending benefit rides and bike rallies, often for different charities or for those in need within the community. He owned and operated Drain Tamers, a plumbing company, and Joe's Bike Shop in Coeburn, Virginia.

The family will receive friends 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home 310 6 ^th Street NW Coeburn, VA.
