John J. Donahue, 76, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025 at his home surrounded by love ones.

He was a devoted husband for 27years. He enjoyed visiting his AA buddies and was in AA for 43 years. Everyone called him J D, dad, grandpa and poppy. He was an avid golf, bingo and casino player. His occupation for the 27 years we had him in our lives was a dispatcher, taxi and limo driver. J D was born in Chicago Illinois and lived there until him and his wife moved to Wise Va in 2011 to be around kids and grandkids. He enjoyed gatherings with his family and collecting old die cast cars.

He is preceded in death by a son, Anthony Donahue; parents, Edward and Rose Agnes Donahue; brothers, Eddie Donahue and Raymond Donahue, and a sister, Mary Geraci.

Surviving are his wife, Grace Banak-Donahue; sons, Christopher Donahue, Raymond Donahue and Steven Hunt; daughters, Tonya Collins and husband Scott, Candenia Waters and husband Dale, Bonnie Corbitt (Cook) and Crystal Mullins and husband Billy; siblings: Rosemary Gizzi and Jim and Gloria Donahue; grandchildren; Quinton Banak, Devon Banak and partner Candice Tabor, Adrianna Banak and partner Isaac Rose, Tori Collins, Tristian Waters, Kalab Waters, Colby Waters, Aden Waters, Ryan Waters, Brandon and Victoria Corbitt, Joshua Corbitt, Kaitlin Corbitt, Jonathan and Allie Cook, Skylar Mullins and Natalie Mullins; 11 great grandkids; several nieces and nephews and several special friends.
