John "Hollywood" Dale, 49, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 25, 2026, in Bristol, Virginia.

Born in La Mesa, California, John spent his early years in El Cajon before relocating to Wise, Virginia, where he graduated from J.J. Kelly High School. From the age of five, John developed a deep love for baseball. He played passionately through his youth and served as a pitcher throughout high school. Though his time on the field eventually ended, his enthusiasm for the sport never faded. Affectionately known as "Hollywood," John's vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was loving and happy-go-lucky, with a spirited stubbornness that made him unforgettable. Whether teeing off on the golf course or spending time with loved ones, John brought joy and energy to every moment.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Dale.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Molly Dale; his father, Dan Dale; his sister, Katina Alcantara; his nephew, Patrick Alcantara (Kimberly); his niece, Rebekah Alcantara; his great-nephew, Elias Alcantara; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

John's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May his legacy bring comfort and strength to all who mourn his passing.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Frist Church of God in Norton, VA. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. till time of service at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the First Church of God in Norton, at the corner of Park Avenue and 10th Street in Norton, Virginia with Pastor Adrian Dale officiating, whom John dearly loved.
