John Henry Coffee, 81, went to be with our Lord & Savior on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Norton Community Hospital in Norton, VA when he was called to Heaven.

"Big John" (as he was well known for that name) was loved tremendously by his wife Fannie and his son Jerry. He was a member of Davis Chapel Church and worked most of his entire life in the coal mines. He was a very dedicated worker, loved the farm life and loved to play his guitar and sing Christian songs. He was an excellent "Papaw" to grand doggies, Casey, Gracie and Peyton, he also loved his farm dogs "Gizmo and Buddy".

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Sil and Mabel Hall Coffey; brothers, Emerson, Jim, Bob, Bill and Roy and sisters, Nell and Pat.

John leaves behind his beloved wife, Frances Coffey (Fannie); son, Jerry Coffey and wife Paula; brother, Eddie Coffey; sister, Margaret Denham and a host of family and friends.

Big John will be missed tremendously.

Funeral services for John Coffee will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 11, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel Wise, VA with Rev. Danny Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home at Wise, VA.
