Joe Hubbard, 73, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

He was a retired coal truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtin and Evalea Hubbard; paternal grandparents, McKinley and Maggie Hubbard; and maternal grandparents, Fred and Ora Lane.

Surviving are his brother, Jack Hubbard and wife Frances; sister, Wilma Sluss and husband Mac; aunts, Betty Hubbard and Joyce Huffstutler; nieces and nephews, Crystal Sexton and husband Adam, Brandon Sluss, April Hubbard and husband Jake, Tiffany Sluss and Jason, Sherissa Sluss, Christopher Hubbard and wife Miranda; great-nephews and nieces, Alexis Sexton, Saidee Sexton, Christyn Sexton, Tyler Sluss, Christian Hubbard and wife Haley, McKinley Sluss, Brielle Hubbard, Benson Hubbard and Kaydence Sexton; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Joe Hubbard will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 27, 2025 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Rev. Billy Hibbitts officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith-Gilliam Cemetery in Wise, VA. Family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M.
