Jocie "Jo" Jeanette Hibbitts, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Holston Valley Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She loved to cook and celebrate holidays and special occasions with her friends and family. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, and artwork. She always treasured attending and participating in church activities.
Jo is preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Blakely Hopkins; son, Scott Mullins; parents, Edgar and Lora Hibbitts; brothers, Avery Hibbitts and Bruce Hibbitts; sisters, Evie Collins and June Collins.
Jo is survived by four children, Neal Mullins and wife Shirley of Glade Springs, VA, Gina Milam of Wise, VA, Wanda Bevins and husband Randell of Wise, VA, Kevin Mullins of Wise, VA; Grandchildren, Seth Mullins and wife Laurie of Richmond, VA, Sarah Mullins of Charlotte, NC, Tanya Hoyt and husband Scott of Hudson, CO, Daniel Milam of Appalachia, VA, Melanie Hopkins and husband Dennis of Norton, VA, Lora Stine and husband Jason of Wise, VA, Keith Bevins and wife Rebecca of Wise, VA, Brad Bevins of Wise, VA, Justin Bevins and wife Samantha of Pound, VA, Michael Mullins of TN, Brent Mullins of TN, Alyssa Jessee and husband Turtle of Wise, VA, Tre Mullins of Kingsport, TN, Ty Mullins of Charlottesville, VA, Andrew Mullins of Wise, VA; Great Grandchildren, Reid, Fabian, Vickie, Scottie, Viola, Johnny, McKenna, Jackson, Kyleigh, Tucker, Lincoln, Anniston, Dakota, and Leighanna; special niece, Lacele Haynes and a host of other relatives and friends.
A special thank you to Holston Valley Medical Center staff for your continuous compassion and care for our loved one during her last few days. She received outstanding care from everyone she was in contact with on W3, D500, and A3.
Funeral services for Jocie Hibbitts will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel, Wise, VA with Brother Mitch Elliott and Pastor Ernest Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday at Sturgill Funeral Home, Wise, VA. Graveside committal services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, October 30, 2022 at the Jessee Cemetery, Wise, VA. Burial will follow. Family and friends will meet at 12:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home to go to the cemetery in procession.
