BIG STONE GAP, VA.                    NOVEMBER 13, 2023

JoAnn Baker, 88, passed away peacefully into heaven on Saturday, November 11, 2023 with her loving family by her side.

She was of the Baptist Faith and had attended Hubbard Freewill Baptist Church.

She sold Tupperware for many years and was known as "The Tupperware Lady" and with this employment she made many friends throughout the region. She enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Doris J. Baker; daughters, Credia J. Baker and infant daughter, Marlene Baker; her mother, Bessie Damron; two brothers, J.D. Baker and Connie Potter; and sister, Jeanette Sexton.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Ray of Wise and Sherry Baker of Big Stone Gap; son, Timothy Baker and wife Kim of Denver, Colorado; six grandchildren, April Osborne and husband Dickie, Tiffany Moore, Travis Mullins, Brent Baker, Shyra Stacy and Kelly Baker; she was a proud great-grandmother of four, Cole Maggard, Taylor Hamilton, Brayden Chandler and Matthew (Matt) Stacy; sister, Betty Snodgrass of Memphis, Tennessee; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for JoAnn Baker will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Darrell Bolling officiating. Burial will follow in the Hubbard-Stapleton Cemetery in Pound, VA. Family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. till time of services at 1:00 P.M.
