Joan Stanley Jessee, 74, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 18, 2021.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Jessee; father, Nolan Stanley; mother, Cora Stanley; and four brothers, Scott Stanley, Edd Stanley, Jerry Stanley, Jeffrey Morrissette.

She is survived by her children, Tracy Hunt and husband Pervin, Michael Jessee, and Cindy Caldwell and husband Brad; grandchildren, Jessalynn Hunt, Kacie Salomonsky and husband Reid, Christian Jessee, Anthony Sexton, Jordan Taylor, and Lauren Caldwell; great-grandchildren, Nolan Salomonsky, and Norah Salomonsky; two special nephews, Jacob Morgan and Andrew Morgan; brothers, Nolan Stanley and wife Glenetta, Earl Stanley and wife Bess and Ken Stanley; sisters, Jean Ashmore, Jewell Morgan, Sherry Large and husband Billy, Sandy Boggs and husband Leonard, Janice Kennedy, and Jo Ann Burnham and husband Nathan; sisters-in-law, Grace Stanley and Mavis Stanley; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Joan Stanley Jessee will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Rev. Earl Stanley officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:30 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Graveside committal services and burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 25, 2021 in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 A.M. Friday at the funeral home to go to the cemetery in procession. In lieu of flowers, family ask that there be NO flowers, donations can be made to Sturgill Funeral Home, P.O.
