Jeffery Wayne West, 61, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Heritage Hall Rehab in Big Stone Gap, VA.

Jeff lived most of his life in Wise. Jeff was a 1980 Graduate of J.J. Kelly High School and was a proud member of the J.J. Kelly High School Marching Band throughout his school days. Jeff worked as an Auto Body Repair Technician, Mechanic and was last employed as a Coal Miner before his retirement.

Jeff recently gave his heart and soul to Jesus and was excited to tell everyone about all that Jesus did for him. Jeff loved his family dearly, as well as his many friends and others that knew him. Jeff never knew a stranger and was one of those very special people with a heart as big as all outdoors.

Jeff was preceded in death by his dear mother, Shirley Jeanette Thompson West; paternal grandparents, Richard Dallas West, Sr. and Janie Elizabeth West; maternal grandparents, Felton George Thompson and Pearl Elizabeth Thompson along with a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Surviving are his beloved dad, Franklin D. West of Wise; his three beloved children, Franklin Richard West (Katherine) of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA.; Cassanda Elizabeth West Frye of Coeburn, VA; Charles Justin West (Sarah) of South Pittsburg, TN.; eight grandchildren that Jeff loved dearly include Jasmine, Laura, and Mellina West, all of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; Jordan Smith of Bristol, TN., Hunter Smith, Kylie Frye, and Waylynn Couch all of Coeburn, VA and Orin West of South Pittsburg, TN.; a brother and sister that love Jeff with all their hearts, Mike West, of Coeburn, VA and Chrissy West, of Gate City, VA.; four nieces, Jade Barb of Bristol, VA., Brandi Barb of Bristol, VA, Ashley Barb of Richmond, VA and Mazi West of Coeburn, VA.; great nephew, Asher Griffith of Richmond, VA.; special friend, Veronica Fleming of Norton.; along with a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins who he loved dearly and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Jeff West will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with JR Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in the Beverly Cemetery in Wise, VA. Family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise.
