Janie Tiller, 89, faith became sight on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 when she fell asleep in this world and awoke in the arms of Jesus.
She was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Daughter of Steve and Nora Tomko who preceded her in death, along with her husband, Bob Tiller; her siblings, Margaret Miller, Bonnie Gillam, Billy Tomko, Lila Fleenor, Dorothy Bowman, Peggy Sturgill, Howard (Baboo) Tomko, and Danny Tomko.
Left to cherish her memory are Rod (Tammy) Tiller, Bobby (Rose) Tiller, and Allison (Calvin) Francis; grandchildren, Natasha (Michael) Gardner, Christopher Tiller, Caleb Tiller, and Kallie Francis; great-grandchildren, Wyhatt Tiller, and Charlee Dixon; including many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
Janie Tiller was a devote Christian of the Pentecostal faith. While attending Beverly Hills Assembly of God she served as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher. She also Served as the President of The Ladies Auxiliary. Later while attending Stevens Church of God she served as President of the Ladies Ministries, A Bible School Teacher, as well as participated in the food pantry ministry. She was awarded Membership into the 66 Club for feats such as reciting the 66 books of the Bible in order, 23rd Psalm, Beatitudes and the Lord's Prayer. In her final years of life, she became a member of the Lighthouse Family Worship Center.
Throughout her life she was known for her hospitality, generosity, and having a servant's heart. She had a Talent and Gift for cooking and witness for the lord. Anyone who encountered her would be fed spiritually and physically.
Special Thank you to all the caregivers who assisted her in her final years of life. Including Beth Belcher, Linda Adkins, Sheree Ramey, Savannah Minton, and finally Linda Francis, a very special caregiver, who was with Janie when her faith became reality.
Mathews 25:21 – "Well done thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the Joy of thy Lord."
Funeral services for Janie Tiller will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Monday, December 15, 2025 at the Lighthouse Family Worship Center in Wise, VA with Pastor Roger Barker and Pastor Nathaniel Maggard officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:30 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. Monday, December 15, 2025 at the church. Graveside committal services and burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 16, 2025 in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Sandy Ridge. Family and friends will meet at 9:30 A.M. Tuesday at the Lighthouse church to go to the cemetery in procession.
