James Drexel "The Legend" Livesay, 80, passed peacefully on May 22, 2021 beside his wife of 63 years, Alice Faye.

Drexel spent 60 years working hard to provide for his family and to help others. The first 40 at ACC and the last 20 hauling gravel. He was a proud man who loved music, traveling, and his Mack Trucks, but most of all he loved his girls.

His daughter, Debbie Gazda and granddaughter, Davie Gazda both claim to be his favorite but that title actually goes to his most favorite great-granddaughter, Jocelyn "shotgun" Figueroa.

Surviving are his wife and true love for many years, Alice Faye Livesay of Wise, VA; son, Randy Livesay of Wise, VA; daughter, Debbie Gazda; grandson, Joshua "L-rod" Wyatt and wife Erin of Norton, VA; one granddaughter, Davie Gazda and fiancé Jody Sadler all of Wise, VA; four great-grandchildren, Jocelyn (Sissy), Easton (p-nut), Max and Kassie Rae; one brother, BW Livesay and wife Meritta of Jonesville, VA; a sister-in-law, Leora Gardner and Neice Linda Fuller both of Bristol, TN; two special friends, Randy Wyatt of Pound, VA and Kenneth Bruce Spade of Wise, VA; two special cats, Petie and Snake, the shop cat; Drexel leaves behind several loved ones, friends and family.

Drexel was a hardworking, kind, and generous man who made an impact on many and will be deeply missed.

Funeral services for James Drexel Livesay will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Elder Stacy Potter officiating. Burial will follow in the Wise Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
