POUND, VA.                                       SEPTEMBER 14, 2021

James Allen Sturgill, 39, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Whitesburg ARH in Whitesburg KY following a courageous battle with Covid. James was survived by His loving wife of 19 years, Susan Deprawn Sturgill; his sons, Joshua Allen Sturgill (Taylor Meade), Jordan Sturgill and Jacob Sturgill all of the home.  James had multiple "extra kids" that he loved as his own, Stevenlee, Blake, Dakota, Austin, Ethan and Cole, to name a few.  James was a member of Pound Volunteer Fire Department for almost 20 years and was overjoyed that most of his boys were following in his footsteps.  The fire dept was James' second family and he would have done anything for any of them.  They were his brothers and sisters and all held a very special place in his heart for many years.  Thank you all for everything you have done for us!!!

In addition, James is survived by his mother, Delois Hall; his father, Morris Sturgill; his grandparents that raised him, Judy and Worley Hamilton; brothers, Worley Lynn (Trena) Hamilton, Benjamin (Patsy) Hamilton and Leslie Hamilton; sister Betty (Larry) Sturgill; his mother-in-law, Lene Keith (Dahl); sister-in-law, Michelle Young (Bryan); brothers-in-law, Scott Keith(Kelly), Chris Keith (Crystal) and Jr Keith (Jessica); many nieces, nephews and cousins to mourn his passing.
