James Everet Hale, 88, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023, in the Norton Community Hospital Norton, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert & Rebecca Hale, a granddaughter, Sarah Danielle Hale Sluss, and several brothers and sisters. He was a member of the Davis Chapel Coeburn, Virginia, and a member of UMWA.

Surviving is his wife, Edna Hale, his children, Everette Gary (Sue) Hale, Kenneth Wayne Hale, Jonathan Andrew Hale, Norman Phillip Hale, Oscar Stair, Brenda (Darrell) Hayes, Donna (Jeff) Sanders, Autumn (Chester Collins) Hale, and Linda Diane Richardson, 15 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 17, 2023, 12 P.M. to 2 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home 310 6th Street NW Coeburn, VA. UMWA Service will follow, and then funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Eddie Rose, Rev. Tom Slemp, and Rev. Stacy Vanover officiating.
