James Floyd Buchanan, "Buck", of Coeburn VA. entered the house of the Lord on April 16. James was born on October 7, 1939 and was a lifelong resident of Coeburn Va. he retired from CSX railroad. He was a faithful member of Mary's Chapel Church where he served on several committees and as well deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents Odis and Savannah Buchanan and two brothers, Frank, and Eugene Buchanan. And grandson Ryan.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Gail as well as 4 children: Melony and husband Johnny Adkins of Coeburn, VA. Jamie and Chester Holbrook of Kingsport TN, Jimmy Buchanan and wife Theresa of Petersburg VA, Leslie, and husband Troy Renfro of Bristol VA. Four grandchildren, Josh and Grant Adkins, Natasha Couch, Logan Renfro, and Haley Renfro. He was blessed by 10 great grandchildren Olivia, Payton, and Isaiah Adkins, Cayne Rose and Poppy Couch, Ella, Raylee, Adeline, Carson, and Shepherd Renfro. He is also survived by brother William Buchanan of Coeburn and a sister Joyce Fail of Norfolk VA, along with several nieces and nephews and special friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday, April 18, 2021 2 P.M. to 3 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home 310 6 ^th Street NW Coeburn, VA., with a Memorial Service conducted at 3 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Les Ritchie and Josh Adkins officiating.
