Howard (Butch the Duck) Buford Campbell, 78, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at his home. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in U.S. Army, a member of the VFW Post # 8652 Coeburn, a retired coal miner and of the Methodist Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom & Lila Campbell, three brothers, Ernest Campbell, Kenneth Campbell, Roy Campbell, a sister, Linda Pilkenton.

Surviving is his wife, Patty Ritchie Campbell, two sons, Michael Campbell and Lisa Stanley of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Rodney (Kim) Campbell of Denton, North Carolina, three daughters, Robin (Greg) Powers, Misty (Charlie) Vanover, and Becky (Phillip) Burke all of Coeburn, Virginia; three brothers, Reggie (Rebecca) Campbell of Coeburn, Virginia, Charlie (Mary) Campbell of Rogersville, Tennessee, and Terry (Barbara) Campbell of Dungannon, Virginia; three sisters, Debbie Campbell of Coeburn, Virginia, Brenda (Mike) Taylor of Dungannon, Virginia, and Kathy (Terry) Rose of Nora, Virginia; 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, special thank you to 2 special nurses, Misty and Becky; Bree and Amanda of Caris Hospice.

Memorial Military Service will be conducted 2 P.M. Friday, April 26, 2024 by the local VFW Members and the Virginia National Guard Honor Team at the Sturgill Funeral Home 310 6th Street NW Coeburn, Virginia.
