Harold Franklin Purkey, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.

He was of the Christian Faith and a retired Bread Truck Driver.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Ova Dotson Purkey and a brother, Kenneth Purkey.

Surviving are his loving wife, Marcelle Addington Purkey; sons, Frank Purkey and wife Robin and Doug Purkey and wife Mary; grandson, Justin Purkey and wife Amanda; two great-grandchildren, Sawyer Purkey and Saylor Purkey; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Graham and Libby Taylor; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Harold Purkey will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA with Pastor Tommy McAmis and Pastor T.J. McAmis officiating. Burial will follow in the Wise Cemetery. The Family will receive friends from 12 noon till time of services at 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
