For many years, in the Fall of the year, one of Harless' great joys was pulling his camper to the Hidden Valley area of Virginia where he would spend a couple of months in the woods with his hunting buddies. He also enjoyed taking this family on camping adventures. Harless attending Community Freewill Baptist Church and was a member of the Coeburn Masonic Lodge #97 A.F. & A.M.
