Gregory "Hoggie" Wayne Pannell, 63, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021 at his home.

He was a devoted father, son, brother, and uncle.

He was of the Christian Faith and a retired coal miner.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Pannell; and three brothers, Rex Pannell, John Pannell, and Eddie Pannell.

Surviving are his mother, Annis Pannell; son, Bradley Nixon; three brothers, Ricky Pannell and wife Wanda, Marty Pannell and wife Lynn and Douglas Funk and wife Tracey; sister, Melinda Nixon and husband Roy; his favorite aunt, Faye Buchanan; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He also leaves behind his four-legged companion, Annie.

Funeral services for Gregory Pannell will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Coeburn, VA with Rev. Curt Bond and Hurley Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Acres Cemetery in Coeburn, VA. Family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M.
