Gordie J. Bolling 93, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Norton Community Hospital in Norton, VA.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a member of Glamorgan Chapel Church, a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, Retired Coal Miner from Clinchfield Coal Company, a member of UMWA and he loved the outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Collins Bolling; son, Dennis E. Bolling; parents, Rufus and Victoria (Tory) Bolling; brothers, Vernoy, Keys, Jack and Tom and sister Betty Salyers.

Surviving are his son, Norris Bolling and wife Kathy of Newberry, SC; daughter, Mary Jane Bolling Smith of Wise; grandchildren, Lora Catoe, Brad Bolling, Jonathan Bolling, Morgan Winkles, Dax Trail and Elle Smith; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Annette Stidham, Dolly Dean (twin), Peggy Jones and Evelyn Walk and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Gordie Bolling will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap, VA with Pastor Greg Sergent officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Virginia National Guard. Burial will follow. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery for services. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to PAWS of Southwest Virginia - P.O. Box 576, Coeburn, Virginia 24230.
