Gerald Herald, 70, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran with tours in Korea and Germany. He was a hardworking, talented mechanic at Morgan-McClure Chevrolet and A&G Coal Company.

Gerald loved to be behind the camera taking pictures, was a collector of knives and guns, and was a woodworking craftsman and a Harley Davidson enthusiast. He was a fun-loving jokester, who loved to sing, whistle and make others smile. Most importantly "He LOVED the LORD".

He was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Robin Horne Herald; his father, James Herald; and mother, Suzan Herald.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Herald; a son, Jason Herald; two daughters, Tilina Herald Stapleton and husband Jason and Ashley Herald Turner and husband Bennie; grandchildren, Hunter Herald, Madison Powers, Jamie Turner and Connor Turner; two brothers, Steve Herald and Ronnie Herald; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Gerald Herald will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Monday, May 13, 2024 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Kenneth Holbrook officiating. Burial with Military Rites will follow in the Mountain View Church Cemetery in Wise, VA. Family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. till time of services at 6:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
