Gary E. Miller passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2026, in Wise, Virginia, at the age of 71. Gary lived a life marked by generosity, love, and gentleness. He was a man whose quiet strength and steady presence touched the lives of many, and he will be remembered with deep affection by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Gary carried himself with kindness and sincerity, and he offered support to others in ways both large and small throughout his life. Gary was a devoted family man whose greatest pride was the love he shared with those closest to him.

He is survived by his daughter, Allison Miller & his son-in-law, Mark Price; his granddaughter, Emma Price; his brother, George Miller & his wife Joyce Miller; his niece, Misty Yates and her husband Kevin Yates and their children Layton Gardner, Logan Gardner, & Laykin Yates; his cousin Sandra Woods; and several other loving family members who will cherish his memory always. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest "Bit" and Anna Miller.

The bonds of family were deeply important to Gary, and he remained a steady and caring presence in the lives of those he loved. In his working years, Gary was associated with A&G Coal, where he was respected for his dedication and dependable nature. Gary also had many interests that reflected his vibrant spirit and wide range of talents. He loved playing music, and his appreciation for it brought joy to both himself and those around him. He was also a third-degree black belt and shared his knowledge by teaching karate, demonstrating discipline, patience, and perseverance. These pursuits were a reflection of his character, as he believed in living with purpose, sharing what he knew, and encouraging others to do their best. Above all, Gary will be remembered for the true kindness and support he gave so freely to others. He was generous in spirit, loving in heart, and gentle in manner. His presence brought comfort, and his words and actions left lasting impressions on the lives he touched. He had a way of making people feel valued and cared for, and could always make you laugh and smile, and that gift will remain part of his legacy. Gary E. Miller’s life was one of quiet dignity, devotion, and compassion. Though his passing leaves a deep void, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
