NORTON, VA                                                  JULY 3, 2026

Franklin "Johnny" Williams, 61, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family who has cared for him during his battle with cancer.

He attended the Ramsey Freewill Baptist Church, where he was a member of the choir.

Johnny had a love for God and loved attending church and singing for the Lord. He did not let his cancer stop him from doing the Lord's work. He was an inspiration to many.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Irene Williams; two brothers, Olen Williams and Felix Williams; and one nephew, Kelly Williams.

He is survived by his sister, Freda Williams; five brothers, George Williams and wife Loretta, Everette Williams, Roger Williams and wife Terry, Odell Williams, and Jimmy Williams and wife Angie; four nephews; one niece; two great-nephews; one great-niece; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to say Thank You to MSA Hospice and a special Thank You to Tiffiny for their care.

Funeral services for Franklin Williams will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 5, 2026 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Steve Powers and Rev. Randy Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton, VA. Family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 5, 2026 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
