Ewing "Peanut" Ferry, 92, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at his home.

He was of the Christian Faith, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, and a retired coal miner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Timmie Ferry; grandson, Anthony Robinette, Jr.; and a son-in-law, Jackie McCarty, Jr.

Surviving are his wife, Gearldine Ferry; children, Mary Ann Finsley and husband Greg, Tammy McCarty and husband Brian, Jamie Jones and Bob Schwartzman, and Linda Moore and husband Frankie; grandchildren, Roy McCarty and wife Kierstien, Savannah Jaquess and husband Josh, Elizabeth Rutherford and husband Jacob, James McCarty, Camren Moore and Darla, Devin Jones and Peyton Jones; great-grandchildren, Jonah Robinette, Josiah Robinette, Christina Jaquess, Eli Jaquess, Paisley Moore, Maggie McCarty and Layton McCarty; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ewing "Peanut" Ferry will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Owen Powers, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Wise Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
