Estelle Lynn Cox, 94, of Wise, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026

Estelle was born in Wise, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her mother; 5 siblings; and 2 special grandchildren, Crystal and Bryan Wampler.

She is survived by daughters, Linda Shanaman, Gail Cox and Rose (Marty) Kennedy; as well as 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Wise Heritage Hall for the loving care extended to Estelle in her final years.

Funeral services for Estelle Cox will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 11, 2026 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Rev. Mike Winters officiating. Family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 11, 2026 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Burial will be private.
