Ernie Dale Carico, 80, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024, in Hermitage Health Care Elizabethton, Tennessee. He was a Veteran of The Vietnam Era serving in the United States Marine Corp. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Levi Carico and Bannie Hamm Carico; a son Anthony Wayne Carico, brother, Carson Carico, sisters, Sue large, Margaret Mitchell, and Faye Kidwell.

Surviving is his son, James Will (Jennifer) Carico of Winchester, Virginia; two daughters, Sheila Yvonne Pennington of St. Paul, Virginia, and Marlena Ann Carico of Lancaster, PA.; a brother, Jerry (Cindy) Carico of St. Paul, Virginia, three sisters, Eunice Belle McElyea of St. Paul, Virginia, Margarita (Tom) Wallace of Berryville, Virginia, and Lynn Wise of Coeburn, Virginia; 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 14, 2024, 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Homes 310 6th Street NW Coeburn, VA. Funeral Service will follow in the chapel with Pastor Robert Ledford officiating. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the USMC and the Local VFW Members at 1 P.M.
