NICKELSVILLE, VA.                       APRIL 19, 2023

Emma Jean Strouth, 91, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport, TN.
She was a devoted Christian and attended church services faithfully until she was physically unable to. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Delbert Wayne Strouth; parents, Maloy Slemp and Hettie Dotson Slemp Hamilton; sisters, Anna Mullins and Polly Layne; brother, Joel Slemp and stepfather, Teston Hamilton.
Surviving are her children, Lisa Strouth Hall of Nickelsville and Jeff and Pennie Strouth of Nickelsville; six grandchildren, Nichelle Hall (Nathan Newberry) of Clintwood, Skyler Hall of Clintwood, Raven Hall Gilbert (Issac Gilbert) of Haysi, Caitlyn Strouth Campbell (David Campbell) Ramstein Air Base Germany, Hannah Strouth of New York City and Chelsea Stapleton of Nickelsville; three great-granddaughters, Luna Hall, Amelia Campbell and Anya Gilbert; three sisters, Reba Strouth of Nickelsville, Patty Garrison of Orange, VA and Jedi McConnell of Coeburn; two brothers, Jerry Slemp of Martinsville and Wayne Hamilton of Clintwood.

Funeral services for Emma Jean Strouth will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with George Cheruk and Edgle Rose officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:30 P.M. till time of services at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Graveside committal services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Strouth-Lane Cemetery Pound, VA. Burial will follow. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 A.M. Sunday at the funeral home to go to the cemetery in procession.
