Elmer Mullins, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Norton Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was a Godly and upright man with a strong faith and commitment to his church, family and friends. He was a member of Duncan Gap Freewill Baptist Church for over 60 years, a deacon for over 50 years and was also song leader for several years. He was a retired salesman having worked for Pound Hardware, Peoples Life Insurance and Witt Motor Company.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Doc Ola and Hattie Layne Mullins; sister, Pauline Mullins; brothers, Ola Mullins, Bob Mullins and Cecil Mullins.

Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Gay Mullins; two sons, Kenny Mullins and wife Tammy and Bryan Mullins and wife Michelle; four grandchildren, Heath Mullins and Natasha Lee, Lauren Mabe and husband Josh, Brianna Ayers and husband Lance and Jessalyn Berry and husband David; eight great-grandchildren, three brothers, Otis Mullins and wife Juanita, Darrell Mullins and wife Lisa and Kyle Mullins; sister, Edith Davis and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Elmer Mullins will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA  with Rev. Glenn Kilgore officiating. Burial will follow in the Hubbard Cemetery in Wise, VA. Family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. till time of services at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday at Sturgill Funeral Home Wise, VA.
