Elmer Leslie Donelson, 95, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December18, 2022, surrounded by his children.

In addition to his family, he loved crossword puzzles, playing checkers and bluegrass music. He loved to play the fiddle. He was a World Warr II Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert P. and Ida (Robinette) Donelson, his first wife of 30 years Janet M. (Davis) Donelson his second wife Jeanette (Artrip) Donelson and one sister Wanda (Donelson) Greear.

He is survived by his daughter Teresa (Donelson) Bentley, his son Kevin and wife Lisa Donelson, his grandson Derek and wife Desirae Donelson, and great grandchildren Bryson, Alexis, Jory, Emberlynn, Sawyer, Storm, Layleah and Esmerelda, his sisters, Beth Warner and Dorothy Narren.

He was well-known and liked in the community.

The family would like to thank Norton Hospice and Palliative Care and the Veterans Administration for the wonderful care provided for our dad.

Thursday, December 22, 2022, in the Greenwood Acres Cemetery Coeburn, Virginia with Pastor Johnny Adkins officiating and Miltary Honors by the U.S. Navy Honors Team and Local VFW Members.
