Elisabeth Charity Short, 22, lived the life of faith, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 10, 2023 at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN.

She attended Freedom of Worship Church in Norton, VA and New Assembly Pentecostal Church in Wise, VA. Elisabeth enjoyed working for the church and spending time with family and friends. She was homeschooled and graduated from 3J4 Academy 2019 Commencement.

She had been employed by Kids Central, Subway and McDonald's.

She was like a sunflower, always so beautiful & fierce, her soul was wild & free, she was bold & strong, she was intelligent & loyal, smile as bright as sunshine, and loved with her entire heart and soul.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dawn Michelle Short; grandmother, Linda Russell; her grandfather, Thomas Russell; and great-grandmother, Eula Shanks.

Surviving are her father, Bobby Short of Wise, VA; grandmother, Geneva Short of Wise, VA; special friend and cousin, Angie Addington; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Elisabeth, I enjoyed all of our special days together, making precious memories. Love, Dad.

Funeral services for Elisabeth Short will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 13, 2023 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Owen Powers Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton, VA. Family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M.
