Edith "Rowdy" Church, 100, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at the Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA.

Edith was preceded in death by her father, Monroe Church; mother, Katherine Boggs Church; son, Ulysses Blaine (Preacher) Church; brothers, Gordon Church and Charles (Charlie) Church; sisters, Ethel Dorton, Marie Maggard, Cora Peice and Mildred Church; granddaughter, Crystal Dorton.

Surviving are sons, Bill Church of Manassas, Jimmy Dorton, Sr. and wife Linda Taylor Moore of Wise, VA, Eddie Church and Lisa Ledford of Norton, VA; 8 grandkids; 12 great-grandkids and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at The Sturgill Funeral Home, Wise, VA.  Graveside services and burial will follow at the Harding Family Cemetery in Wise, VA. Please visit www.sturgillfuneral.com to leave online condolences for the family.
