Dwight Douglas
Darnell
d. Apr 1, 2023
NORTON, VA. APRIL 5, 2023
Dwight Douglas Darnell, 53, passed away suddenly Saturday, April 1, 2023 at his home on Guest River in Norton, VA.
He was a graduate of J. J. Kelly High School with the class of 1988. Shortly after he began his career as a HVAC technician and worked in this field for many many years. He was currently employed by M & S Contractors of Big Stone Gap, VA.
In his spare time (which he didn't have much of at all) he enjoyed playing video games and thoroughly enjoyed getting out all his drones and flying them around. Although his most favorite hobby, that he was the proudest of, was his Jeep. When he was able to purchase it, he was just beside himself in excitement. He spent countless hours working on it, adding parts and fixing it up just how he wanted it. His jeep ended up being one of his most prize possessions which he named, "Mad Hatter".
To know Dwight aka (D. D.) was to love him, as he was known for his infectious smile and warming laugh. Everyone who had ever crossed paths with him sure was blessed as he knew everyone and everyone knew him. He never met a stranger and if he did, I guarantee after a few
minutes of conversation with him he had made a new friend. He had so many people that loved and cared about him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and would help anyone anyway he could.
Dwight will be missed by many. His children will miss him because they had the greatest father. As his mother Brenda will have a void for the rest of her days from losing her only son. He has other family as well as many friends who will miss him dearly. Dwight was just such an amazing human being.
We may never understand why he was taken from this world at such a young age. Although we have to believe it was time for him to go be with God. His work on earth is done and now it's his turn to rest. You will forever be greatly missed but just know that when it comes all of our times we will be with you again. This time though it will be for eternity in Heaven with our Heavenly Father.
He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Darnell; both maternal grandparents, Eugene and Rosie Wampler; his paternal grandparents, Wrighley & Juanita Darnell and uncle, W. C. Darnell.
Surviving are his mother, Brenda Darnell of Norton, VA.; two children, Jastanie Lida Darnell 19 and Isabella Rose Darnell 9, both of the home. His two daughters were his pride and joy and his reason to keep on living. Everything he did was to make sure that were taken care of and that they knew he loved them with every fiber of his being. D.D. was an amazing and outstanding son, grandson, father, and friend. He worked so very hard everyday to assure that he was able to provide for his children and give them the best life he possibly could.
Per Dwight's wishes he was cremated and there will be no funeral services at the time.
