Douglas Edward Collins, 64, passed peacefully at Pikeville Medical Center in the early morning hours on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

He was a retired coal miner. He was of the Christian faith. He loved his dogs, Little Bit and Precious. He found happiness in the little moments, creating memories with loved ones. He loved to joke and laugh, always creating chaos and mischief.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pat and James Collins.

Surviving are his loving wife, Kathy Collins; brother, Steve Collins and wife Loretta; sons, Eric Collins and wife Jessica, Daniel Collins and wife Natasha, David Sargent, and Matt Powers; daughter, Christy Wallace and husband Daniel; a slew of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and a whole host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Douglas Collins will be announced at a later date by the family.
