Dora May Harvey Brummett, 88, transitioned to her heavenly home November 30, 2024, at her home. She was born in Coeburn, Virginia to Emmitt Pridemore & Vesta Mae Musick Harvey. She was a loving housewife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. She loved gardening, crocheting, sewing and taking care of her family. She was a big advocate of her late husband, Joseph Brummett for the UMWA. In addition to her late husband, Joseph Brummett, also preceded in death by her son, Joe Lee Brummett, seven brothers, William Bill Harvey, Orbin Harvey, Leon Harvey, Tomas Harvey, Roy Harvey, Daniel Harvey, and Curtis Harvey, and three sisters, Elsie Cook, Lucille Beavers, Molly Harvey, and twin siblings in infancy.

She is survived by her son, Michael Wayne Brummett of Coeburn, Va., her daughters, Rita Fay Willis of Dante, Va., and Pearlie May Carter and her husband, David Carter of Coeburn, Va., 8 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 19 step great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, three sisters, Retha Younce of Sandusky, Ohio, Anna Lou Smith and Lilly Jacobs both of Coeburn, Va., a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 4, 2024, 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home 310 6th Street NW Coeburn, Va. Funeral Service will follow in the chapel with Pastor Danny Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Harvey Cemetery Blue Bell Hollow Section in Coeburn, Va.  Pallbearers will be Robbie Feltner, CJ Willis, Ricardo Herrera, Bryan Hayden, Braxton Brummett, AJ Feltner, and Caleb Fritz.
