Donald Ray
Boatright, Jr
d. Mar 31, 2021
COEBURN, VA. APRIL 2, 2021
On this day Wednesday, March 31, 2021 we said goodbye to a devoted husband, a wonderful brother, a loving son and a great father, Donald Ray Boatright, Jr.
Don grew up in Norton, VA but decided to make a home in the Tennessee area. There he worked in the Heavy Equipment Construction Industry for many years. He was given the name "LoaderMan". He enjoyed this work very much. He also loved to fish and go boating with his family. He also loved to hunt, however he had a terrible hunting accident when he was 48 years old and changed his life forever. He became a paraplegic, but his faith, strength, and courage kept him going and eventually he returned to his home town where he resided until he lost his courageous fight.
Our hearts are broken but we know that he is with God and the angels and not suffering any longer. We will always cherish those special memories. He was truly loved and will be missed by his family and all his friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Ray Boatright, Sr. and Lillian Pauline Boatright; infant son and infant daughter.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Donna who he loved with all his heart; daughter, Ashley Brewer; sons, Jarrett Boatright of Crossville TN and Gerald Boatright of Clinton, TN; sisters, Wanda Wright and Joyce McMillan and husband Darren of Wise VA; brothers, Roy Boatright and wife Linda, Steve Boatright and Ronald Boatright and wife Pam of Norton VA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and friends.
The family would like to say a special Thank You to all the staff at Norton Community Hospital.
