Denver Winfred "Bicky" Sanders, 74, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 30, 2024. Denver grew up in Jenkins, KY, then moved to Wise, VA and later worked as a coal miner at Paramont Coal Co. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and was of the Freewill Baptist Faith. Denver served as a Deacon at Mt. Olive Church. He dedicated his life to serving God. Denver enjoyed wood working, building things and was an avid coon hunter in his younger days. He enjoyed spending time with family and taking trips with family as well.

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Sandra Sanders; son, Brian Sanders; parents, Marvin and Nora Sanders; brother, Elmer "Bill" Sanders and a granddaughter, Carley Austin.

Surviving are his Loving wife, Alice Sanders; daughter, Michelle Harding and husband Gary; step-daughters, Ava (Billy) Knight, Debbie Jenkins, Cynthia Addington and Wayne Fleming, Melissa (Wayne) Austin and Vanessa (Chris) Isaac; special grandsons which he loved dearly, Logan and Brett Harding and other grandchildren which he treated and loved as his own, Kameryn Little, Kaiden Isaac, Mason Isaac, Keira Isaac, Cody Austin, Christopher Addington, Kristen Rogers, Blake Knight, Chase Knight, Morgan Powers, Tayler McArthur, Dalton Jenkins and Brian "Bebo" Sanders;  sister, Brenda Justice and husband Elmer; brother, Charles "AC" Sanders and wife Arlene; and a hsot of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Denver Sanders will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Monday, June 3, 2024 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Rev. Randy Sturgill and Rev. Danny Hurst officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. Monday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Graveside committal services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at the Sanders Family Cemetery in Wise, VA. Burial will follow. Family and friends will meet at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home to go to the cemetery in procession.
