Denver (Denny) Ray Hobbs Sr of Big Stone Gap, Virginia passed away February 5, 2023, at the age of 73.

Denny is preceded in death by his wife, Sara Hobbs, his father Ralph Hobbs, mother Georgia Hobbs, and sister Brenda (Carol) Beekman.

Denny is survived by son, Denver Ray (Denny Ray) Hobbs Jr (Sherry), grandchildren Katlyn Hall (Kenny) and Adam Hobbs.   Great grandchildren, Brinleigh, Haiden, and Everly Hall, all of Maryland.

Brothers, Walter (Buck) Hobbs of Maryland, Ralph (Eddie) Hobbs (Debbie) of Minnesota, Larry Hobbs of Maryland, and Joey Hobbs Sr (Joanna) of Virginia.

Sisters Betty Goddard (Donald) of Maryland, Doris Kopp of Minnesota, Linda Bagwell (Alvin) of South Carolina, Frances (Frankie) Adams of Maryland, Connie Ramey of Virginia, and Bonnie Ketron (Billy) of Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Denny was born in Wise County, Virginia on April 13, 1949.  He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator at Great Mills Trading Post of Great Mills, Maryland and Standard Core Drilling of Coeburn, Virginia. He was very good at what he did.  In his younger years he also worked as a Long Haul Truck Driver.
