Dennis Farrell Mullins, Sr., 77, went home to be with the Lord Friday, December 6, 2024.

Dennis was a born again Christian. He attended Trinity Life Center Church in Coeburn, Virginia and The Lighthouse in Wise, VA.

Dennis was a 1966 graduate of J. J. Kelly High School. He began his employment with the State of Virginia as a Surveyor with the Virginia Department of Transportation. In 1973 Dennis joined The Department of Game and Inland Fisheries as a Game Warden. He retired as a Lieutentant in 2004. After retirement, he worked part time as a Botetourt County Deputy for seven years. In 2011 he returned to Wise to live at the family home place.

Dennis was an avid outdoorsman and he loved to share his passion with his family and friends.  He was the founder of our local Wild Game Expo where his main goal was making sure those in attendance heard the Word of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hansford and Edith Mullins; brother, Jerry Mullins; sister, Mary "Bay" Mullins Hamm; and niece, Candace Rakes.

Surviving are his wife Teresa Potter; two children, Dennis Farrell Mullins, Jr. and wife Alexis, of Roanoke, Melissa (Missy) Francine Roberts and Mark, of Roanoke; two step-children, Slade Potter and wife Laura of Pound, Lauren Isbell and husband Cody, of Mooresburg, TN; six grandchildren, Hallee Mullins Armstrong and husband Travis, Shane Roberts, Declan Mullins, Rylan Mullins, Adrianne Potter and Malcolm Potter; two great grandchildren, Ellie Raye Bowyer and Murray Armstrong; brothers, Paul Phipps and wife Mae of Florida, Randy Mullins and wife Brenda (TW) of Abingdon, Michael Mullins and wife Jeanne of Wise; sisters, Annette (Sissy) Phipps Underwood of Wise, Virginia Mullins Baker of Wise, Teresa Mullins Wendle and husband Bill of Wise, and Jennifer Mullins Hibbitts and husband Paul of Wise; and a multitude of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Dennis Farrell Mullins, Sr. will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at The Lighthouse Family Worship Center 145 Lake Street Wise, VA 24293 with Rev. Ronnie Collins, Pastor John F. McCarroll and Pastor Roger Barker officiating. The Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until time of services at 7:00 pm Tuesday at the church. Graveside committal services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 11, 2024 in the Wise Cemetery in Wise, Virginia. Family and friends will meet at 12:30 P.M. Wednesday at the church to go to the cemetery in procession.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
