David Thurman Wampler, 74, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport TN.

He was a life-long resident of Wise, VA, served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of Stevens Church of God.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Velma Wampler of Wise, VA.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Wampler, Wise, VA; sisters, Sue Addington, Wise, VA, Myra Bew, South Carolina and Mary Wilkerson, Chesterfield, VA; daughters, Virginia Kilgore, Anaheim, CA, Nancy Wampler, Wise, VA and Rebecca Wampler, Wise, VA; stepsons, Earl Ward, Pound, VA, Daniel Ward, Jefferson City, TN and Ricky Diets, Wise, VA; 12 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and a friend he loved as a brother, Norris Bolling, Wise, VA and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services for David Wampler will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Perry Brock officiating. Family will receive friends 5:00 P.M till time of services at 7:00 P.M. Sunday at the
