David Wayne Tate, 56, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

David loved building, discovering electronics, computers, collecting antiques, working on vehicles and spending time with his beloved dog Peaches.  He loved the Lord and his family at the Lighthouse Family Worship Center.

He is preceded in death by his father, Louis Carroll Tate and stepfather, Billy Shortt of Wise, VA.

Surviving are his son, David Tate Jr. of Norton; mother, Bonnie Artrip Shortt of Wise; brother, Joe Tate of Wise; step brothers, Terry Shortt of North Bend, OR and Chris Shortt of Petersburg, VA; two special aunts, Carolyn Artrip and Marilyn Kuhn; several nieces, nephews, a host of cousins, friends and extended family members.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
