WISE, VA.                                         JANUARY 8, 2022

David Kermit Hampton, 65, went home to his Heavenly Father and Earthly Father on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the Norton Community Hospital.

He was of the Baptist Faith and was retired from Wise County Public Schools where he was a counselor, truant officer and assistant varsity basketball coach at Eastside. David loved life. He never met a stranger. He would brighten up a room with his presence. He had a special way of making you smile and laugh.

David was a devoted husband, father, papaw and friend. David loved his daughter Tiffany and his four grandchildren. David loved spending time with family and friends, whether it was running kids to school, going to movies, attending events, hanging out at the garage, watching races, going to Harrah's, out to eat or just watching for deer at the college.

David was preceded in death by his father, Kermit Hampton and grandparents, Volley and Edma Hampton.

Surviving are his mother, Carol Hampton Seifried; his devoted and loving wife of 44 years, Cindy Colyer Hampton; loving daughter, Tiffany Hampton Cress and son-in-law Hunter; four precious grandchildren, Landon David, Elijah Patrick, Tessabelle Pauline and Ariella Grace; two special nephews, F.D. and Justin Colyer;

And a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of David's Life will be held at a later date.
