WISE, VA                                   OCTOBER 21, 2026

Danny Allen Stallard, 79, left this world for his heavenly home on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

He was born in Esserville, VA to the late Lola Sturgill Stallard Hamilton and the late Ermine Stallard.

Danny graduated from J.J. Kelly High School in 1966 and married the love of his life, Wilma or “Lucy” as he always called her on New Year’s Eve 1966.

He attended Central Freewill Baptist Church in Norton and was employed with Peoples Security Insurance Company for 25 years as an agent and Sales Manager. Danny lived a life devoted to public service and served as a County Electors Official for 35 years. He was appointed by the County Supervisors to serve on the Southwest Virginia Workforce Investment Board. He also served on the Wise County Public Service Authority Board and the Social Services Board. He belonged to the Hoge Masonic Lodge in Wise as a Master Mason where he received his 50-year pin in 2024. Danny also was bestowed the high honor of being a Kentucky Colonel.

He was preceded in death by two half-brothers, Joel Hamilton and Eddy Hamilton.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Wilma Lucille Bledsoe Stallard; one half-brother, Scotty Mark Hamilton; and a host of relatives and close friends.

Danny’s legacy is his love of life and service. He was a devoted son, husband, the best friend and a man who lived his faith by serving others. Danny and Wilma loved to travel alone and with friends making wonderful memories. He was an avid reader of American history, presidents, and the Civil War. Danny was always smiling and he wanted everyone around him to do the same.

Masonic services for Danny Stallard will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Sunday, October 25, 2026 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA. Funeral services will follow with Pastor Gary Hill officiating. Family will receive friends from 4:30 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. Sunday, October 25, 2026 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Graveside committal services and entombment will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 26, 2026 at the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 A.M. Monday at the funeral home to go to cemetery in procession.
