Danny Joe
Prichard
d. May 13, 2024
LEBANON, VA. MAY 22, 2024
Danny Joe Prichard, 66, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, May 13, 2024.
At a young age, Danny became a member of the Harlan Boys Choir and traveled the country. This experience inspired a sense of discipline and a lifetime love of music and singing (especially worship and bluegrass)! He graduated from Harlan High School, then onto S.E. Community College in Cumberland, KY, where he received degrees in Applied Science and Mining Technology.
He began his work career with Eastover Mining, attaining his Foreman's certification and gaining hands on knowledge of coal mining and a lifetime bond and dedication to fellow coal miners. These experiences served him well as he moved into a sales position with Mine Service Company, in Wise, VA, where he continued to work since 1995.
Danny dedicated his life to serving God through serving others to the best of his abilities and will always be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help meet the needs of others. He had a very special bond with his brother, Mike, whom he worked with for many years, and his late sister, Janey. Over the last 10 years he became fascinated with wood turning and became a very accomplished, self-taught wood turner. Danny had been married to the love of his life and best-friend, Patti, for over 20 years. They enjoyed their time together fishing, hunting, gardening, going to bluegrass concerts, serving and worshipping Jesus. Danny will be greatly missed by all that knew, worked with, and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald J. Prichard; mother, Mary Kaye Prichard Collins; and sister, Janey M. Williams.
Surviving are his loving wife, Patti Prichard; brother, Mike Prichard and wife Anita; nephew, Adam Williams; longtime family friend, Karen Holland; his 4 legged partner in grime, Maggie; and a host of other relatives and friends.
