Daniel Larry Gibson, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Norton Community Hospital.

Born to the late Glen Gibson and Gladys H. Gibson Jernigan, Larry was a lifelong resident of Wise County. He worked as a Section Foreman for Westmoreland Coal Company until his retirement and was an Aviation Electrician during his service in the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Janet Gibson DeBusk.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Gibson; son, Daniel Larry Gibson II; daughter, Jamie Gilliam and husband Jeffery; granddaughters, Alexandra and Victoria Gilliam; sister, Anna Lee Gibson; brother, Tommy Gibson and wife Delores and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Daniel Gibson will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 20, 2023 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Gary Hill officiating. Military rites will be conducted. Burial will follow in the Wise Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise.
