Dana "Danny"
Paige
d. Aug 16, 2026
WISE, VA AUGUST 17, 2026
Dana "Danny" Paige, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 16, 2026. Danny was a devoted Christian, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. His life was defined by his unwavering love for his family, his faith, his hard work, and the countless lives he touched throughout his years.
Danny dedicated 35 years of his life to serving as a custodian at Wise Primary School. To the children and staff, he was so much more than a custodian. He was a familiar face, a caring presence, and someone who always made sure the kids were taken care of. He was affectionately known by generations of students as "The Candy Man" a name that perfectly captured the kindness and joy he brought to their days.
Danny never met a stranger. He had a big heart and had a way of making everyone around him feel welcomed and cared for. Whether you had known him for years or had just met him, he treated you like family. He was known for being hardworking, selfless, compassionate, and always willing to help. Above all, Danny loved his family. To his grandchildren, he was lovingly known as "Pap". Being a Pap was one of the greatest joys of his life, and he cherished every moment with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His kindness, humor, generosity, and loving spirit will be remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Dorothy Page; and his siblings, Sue, Christine, Bob, Judy Ann, and James Clarence.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 46 years, Laura Paige; his daughter, Jessica Paige; his son, Marty Paige and wife Cecilia, grandsons, William Paige and Jacob Paige and wife Mckinzie; granddaughters, Heather Brickey, Hannah Brickey, and Jessica Brickey; great-grandchildren, Coby, Noah, Gracie, and Cadence; brothers, Randy and Delbert; sisters, Barbara, Debbie, Jennie, and Robin; special friend, Bill Bowers. The bond they shared was one of true friendship, brotherhood, and family. Bill held a very special place in Danny's heart and was known as his "flea market buddy".
Danny leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through the many lives he touched. Though his passing was unexpected, the memories he created and the love he gave so freely will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and the countless children who knew him. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the arms of his Lord and Savior, and that his earthly life was spent loving and caring for others.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lunchbox 276, P.O. Box 178, Wise, VA 24293 in Danny's memory.
