Coy Watson Kilgore, 93, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky.

He was a member of the Regular Baptist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, and was a retired coal miner.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Watson Kilgore; his parents, I.P. and Cora Kilgore; a brother, Ira Kilgore; and two sisters, Beatrice Jackson and Pearlie Mullins.

Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Kilgore; daughter, Sandra Taylor and husband Robert; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Coy Watson Kilgore will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Elder Alvin Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA. Family will receive friends from 12 noon till time of services at 1:00 P.M.
