Connie Adkins Dingus, 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Connie was a devout Christian and a member of Nash's Chapel Baptist Church.  Although she had been unable to attend services in recent years as she once did, she enjoyed watching them online from many local churches.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Connie earned her bachelor's degree from Radford University and taught at J. J. Kelly High School for 34 years before her retirement in 1994.  She remained in contact with many former students and always enjoyed hearing from them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arland Dingus; her parents, Vernon and Opal Adkins; one brother, Kester Adkins; grandson, Jon-Franklin Anderson and great-granddaughter, Adalynn Hopkins.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Kester and Veneta Dingus; daughter and son-in-law, Deandra and Stephen Jones; granddaughters, Ann-Delyse Hopkins and husband Jeremiah, Ashlyn Jones and Jordan Dingus; grandsons, Dakota Scott and Logan Scott; great-grandsons, Boden Hopkins and Zander Hopkins; great-granddaughter, Aaralin Hopkins; a special group of friends that were always willing to help that she loved and cherished and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Connie Dingus will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel, Wise, VA with Rev. Mike Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the Dingus Family Cemetery, Wise, VA. Family will receive friends from 5:30 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Sturgill Funeral Home, Wise, VA.
