Clinton Miles Kennedy, 50, went home to be with Jesus on September 12, 2024 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Clinton will be remembered for his loving, caring, funny, playful, and outgoing personality. Clinton loved to make others laugh. His love for Elvis, Rock and Roll, New Kids on the Block, Batman, Roller coasters, shopping, and shoes will be remembered in the hearts of those who knew him. He has made a great impression on everyone who encountered him. Clinton was the light of everyone's life that had the honor to know him. With the ability to love fiercely, Clinton had a special gift of teaching those around him how to love unconditionally.

Clinton is preceded in death by his sister, Rachel Denise Kennedy, uncle: Randy Hanks, and grandfather: Gene Hanks.

He is survived by his parents: Terry & Janice Payne, Stepsister: Regina Martin, uncle: Mike Hanks, aunt: Cheryl Allgeyer,  grandmother: Barbara Hanks, cousin: Jodie Cantrell, caregivers and friends: Kim Smith, Leah Kilgore, Rebecca Henry, Lisa Fisher, Missy Osborne, Ellis Hamilton, Heath Mullins, Stephanie Hawkins, Jon Hamilton, Fabian Blair, Tonya Roark, Skyler Holbrook, Kevin Maggard, Jennifer Rose, and ALL of his staff.

A special thank you to his favorite nurse, Deidre Brummitt. Clinton enjoyed all the time he was able to spend with her over the years. He made sure to let everyone know when he was able to see her, even for weeks after. Thank you for loving our precious boy the same way we did.

Funeral services for Clinton Kennedy will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Joe Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow in the Wise Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
