Charlotte Elsie Rice, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Charlotte attended and was a longtime member of the Wise First Church of God, Wise, VA. She lived her life serving her Lord and church, her beloved husband, and enjoying her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Bill Rice; mother, Eunice Applebury; father, Wesley (Max) Applebury of Bogard, MO; two sisters, Jane Rigsby of Durham, NC and Phyllis L Hagmann of Rialto, CA.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia Rice of Wise; two sons, Wesley (Diane) Rice of Warrenton, VA and Kelly (Anne) Rice of Sweetwater, TN; four foster daughters; four grandchildren; ten foster grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous foster great-grandchildren; one sister, Erma Adkins of Wise and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Charlotte Rice will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the Wise First Church of God 702 E Main St, Wise, VA 24293 with Pastor Gary Maggard officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. till time of services at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday at Wise First Church of God 702 E Main St, Wise, VA 24293
