Charlotte Yates Powers, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at the Norton Community Hospital in Norton, Virginia.

She was of the Christian Faith and an angel to us all.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Richard Powers; her parents, William Carl and Alta Blanche Lane Yates; and four brothers, Daryl Yates, Billy Yates, Tollie Yates and Emory "Butch" Yates.

Surviving are her son, Richard Carl Powers; sister, Judy Sexton; two brothers, Eddie Yates and Steve Yates; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Charlotte Yates Powers will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Matt Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA. Family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or Shriners Hospitals for Children, Processing Center - PO Box 863765 Orlando, FL 32886.
